Top Down, Bottom Up
Duxton utilises a top down and bottom up investment philosophy, timing investments into a project at the appropriate point in the commodity cycle after extensive due diligence. Duxton then actively manages and monitors the investment with a focus on balance sheet management. Our investments are actively managed by our team in Australia, who oversee the investment process from initial due diligence through to project exit.
Australian Agriculture
Duxton’s projects are currently located in Australia due to its economic stability and low sovereign risk, established infrastructure, access to some of the world’s fastest growing markets, the ability to farm at scale, and a climate and size which facilitates a diverse commodity mix.
Diversification
Where possible an emphasis is placed on diversification across three vectors: geography, to account for climate variability, weather risk, water availability and soil type; commodities, to ensure broad exposure to different income streams; and management. Duxton believe this minimises the most significant risks in agricultural investments. The Duxton Diversified Agriculture Fund is further diversified between Australian unlisted and global listed agricultural exposures.
